Wrexham County Borough Council was established on 1 April 1996 following the reorganisation of local government in Wales, bringing together former county and district authorities to deliver unified services across the Wrexham area. Based at the historic Guildhall, Wrexham, the council is responsible for key public services including highways, environmental maintenance, housing and education. In 2022, Wrexham proudly achieved city status in recognition of its cultural and economic importance, and the council continues to lead efforts to maintain and enhance public spaces across the region.
